Daniela Strigl, born 1964 in Vienna. Literary scholar, critic, essayist. 2003–2009, 2011–2014 Member of the jury of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. Member of the jury of the German Book Prize in 2009 and 2019 and of the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2013–2015. 2005 Scholar in Residence at Rutgers University, NJ, since 2007 lecturer at the Institute of German Studies at the University of Vienna, 2018 habilitation. Austrian State Prize for Literary Criticism 2001, Alfred Kerr Prize 2013, Berlin Prize for Literary Criticism 2015, Johann Heinrich Merck Prize 2019.
