Eberhard Rathgeb, born in Buenos Aires in 1959, lives in northern Germany.
He was Feuilleton editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and its Berlin Sunday edition. In 2013, he received the aspekte Literature Prize for his debut novel Kein Paar wie wir. This was followed by the novels Das Paradiesghetto (2014), Cooper (2016), and Karl oder Der letzte Kommunist (2018). Most recently, he published the nonfiction book Die Entdeckung des Selbst. How Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, and Kierkegaard Revolutionized Philosophy (2022). Rathgeb’s novel Unser Alter was published in 2022.
