Anna Kim

Anna Kim was born in 1977 in Daejeon/South Korea. She studied Philosophy and Theatre Studies at the University of Vienna and wrote her master thesis on G. Lukács’ Theory of the Novel. She published the books Die Bilderspur (2004), Die gefrorene Zeit (Frozen Time, 2008), Invasionen des Privaten (Invading the private, 2011) and Anatomie einer Nacht (2012).

Anna Kim explores the concepts of ›foreign‹, she searches for the right words and sentences to describe the ›different‹.

Kim received numerous awards and grants, amongst others, the Elias Canetti Grant (2009), the Heinrich Treichl Prize (2009) and the European Union Prize for Literature (2012) with her novel Die gefrorene Zeit (Frozen Time, 2008).
