Andreas Unterweger

Andreas Unterweger was born in 1978 in Graz. He studied German and French philology and now lives in St. Johann/Grafenwörth in Niederösterreich. He published prose and lyric poetry in journals and magazines for literature (e.g. manuskripte), essays about Wolfgang Bauer and Bob Dylan.

In 2009, Unterweger was awarded the prize for Literature of the Akademie Graz and in 2016 the Manuskripte-Preis. With Wie im Siebenten (On Cloud Nr. 7) he was shortlisted for the Rauriser Literaturpreis 2010, with Du bist mein Meer (You are My Sea) on the shortlist of the Alpha Literaturpreis 2011. The awards were followed by the pubilcation of his books Das kostbarste aller Geschenke (The most precious gift oft all, 2013) und Das gelbe Buch (The Yellow Book, 2015) by Droschl.
